By using the service provided on the GTmetrix.com website ("Service"), a service of GTmetrix, you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions ("Terms of Service"). Please read the following carefully to ensure you understand the conditions of your use of the service.

Privacy

  1. You have read, and understand our Privacy Policy.
  2. Personal identifiable information submitted by you will be subject to our Privacy Policy.

Analytics and Service Improvement Tools

GTmetrix is entitled to collect customer data on the use and functioning of the services for the purpose of fulfilling the contract, ensuring quality, and further developing the customer relationship and services, and to statistically evaluate them for its own purposes (e.g., assess traffic patterns with Google Analytics, analyzing usage patterns through tools such as Mixpanel, optimizing page experiences through VWO (Visual Website Optimizer), etc.).

In practice, we use these rights to understand and improve how GTmetrix is used via the following third-party analytics and experimentation tools:

  • Google Analytics helps us analyze aggregate usage patterns across our website and application. GTmetrix uses Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled and advertising/data-sharing features disabled.

  • Mixpanel helps us measure feature usage and engagement within our product to improve usability and performance.

  • VWO (Visual Website Optimizer) helps us conduct A/B tests and optimize the GTmetrix experience.

These services may set cookies or similar identifiers to collect information about your interactions with GTmetrix (e.g., pages visited, actions taken, and general device information). All analytics and testing data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, where you can find more information on how to manage or opt out of such tracking.

GTmetrix Account Usage

  1. GTmetrix may not be used for illegal and/or abusive activities. Doing so will result in the termination of your GTmetrix account.
  2. Password security is the responsibility of the user.
  3. You are limited to one GTmetrix account per person or business.
  4. GTmetrix is not directed to children. Access to and use of the Service is only for those over the age of 16.
  5. Your GTmetrix account will be purged if there is no report data present, no PRO data (active or past subscriptions, Team membership, etc.), and no login activity after 6 months.
    • Purged accounts are non-recoverable.

Unlimited On-Demand Testing – Fair Use Policy

  1. Unlimited On-Demand Testing is provided under a Fair Use Policy. While GTmetrix does not impose fixed limits on the number of tests you may run, use of this feature must align with its intended purpose: website performance monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  2. We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts where usage is determined to be excessive, abusive, or outside of normal customer activity, including but not limited to:
    • Running automated or scripted tests at large scale
    • Performing stress tests, scraping, or activities unrelated to typical performance monitoring
    • Generating test volumes that significantly exceed reasonable usage or impact platform stability
  3. GTmetrix may, at its sole discretion, intervene to ensure fair access and reliable service for all customers.

API/API Credit Usage

  1. The GTmetrix API is provided "as is" and "as available".
  2. The API may be modified by GTmetrix at any time.
  3. GTmetrix reserves the right to limit the amount of API requests in cases of overuse or abuse of the API.
  4. GTmetrix reserves the right to restrict accounts or IP addresses that overuse or abuse the API.
  5. GTmetrix reserves the right to determine what constitutes overuse or abuse of the API.

SMS Communications

  1. GTmetrix offers SMS messaging for Multi-Factor Authentication and performance alerts.
  2. Message and data rates may apply.
  3. Message frequency varies based on your alert settings and login attempts.
  4. Reply STOP to any GTmetrix SMS message to opt-out of future messages.

Billing

  1. You must provide and maintain accurate billing information. Subscribing to a paid GTmetrix account gives GTmetrix license to charge you and/or bill your credit card/PayPal account for GTmetrix related fees, as well as any applicable taxes.
  2. Payments will be charged in advance on the first day of each billing cycle for that cycle.
  3. Subscription fees will be charged automatically unless you cancel your service.
  4. You can change between different billing cycles at any time. By default, if you are downgrading your plan, the new billing cycle length will take effect after the expiration of the current cycle (i.e., at the next renewal date). Plan upgrades take affect immediately. See Changing Account Types point 4 for information on immediate downgrades.

Changing Account Types

  1. You may upgrade or downgrade your GTmetrix account at any time from the GTmetrix Pricing/your Account page. An upgrade is any plan where the cost per billing cycle is greater than or equal to your current plan's cost per billing cycle. All plan changes which are not upgrades are considered downgrades.
  2. After an upgrade, you will be billed immediately for the remaining time until the next renewal. This bill will be pro-rated in accordance with the amount you have already paid.
  3. After a downgrade, you will be billed at the new rate on the next renewal date.
  4. If you wish to downgrade immediately, you may shift to any plan of equal or lesser value than the pro-rated amount remaining on your current billing cycle.

Refund Policy

  1. No refunds or exchanges on subscription services, except as assessed on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, contact us within 14 days (2 weeks) of the payment date stating the reason for your request.
  2. If you do not receive this receipt e-mail, it is your responsibility to contact GTmetrix within these 14 days via e-mail to confirm that GTmetrix has received your request.

Cancellation and Termination of Service

  1. You may at any time cancel your paid subscription by downgrading to GTmetrix Basic (Free), provided that any past invoices have been paid. This can be done from your Account page. GTmetrix does not accept cancellations via e-mail or phone.
  2. Any abuse of the Service will lead to termination of your account. GTmetrix reserves the right to decide what is considered abuse of the Service.

Changes to Terms of Service

  1. These Terms of Service may be changed without prior notice. The current Terms of Service can be viewed at: https://gtmetrix.com/terms-of-service.html

Disclaimer

  1. The GTmetrix Service is provided "as is" and "as available".
  2. GTmetrix reserves the right to add to, remove, and otherwise modify its services, including features, paid account types, and fees.
  3. GTmetrix reserves the right to discontinue the Service at any time after a 30-day notice via e-mail.
  4. GTmetrix reserves the right to change the prices for the Services and any connected extra services at any time, provided that a fee increase will not apply to any recurring-fee based service to which you were subscribed for at the time of increase. A fee increase will take effect 30 days after notice from GTmetrix and only applicable to new billing cycles subscribed by you.
  5. GTmetrix gives no warranties regarding the correctness of the data collected with the Service or any potential corruption or loss of such data.

Limitation of Liability

  1. You expressly understand and agree that GTmetrix shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if GTmetrix has been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from: 1. the use or the inability to use the GTmetrix service; 2. the cost of procurement of substitute goods and services resulting from any goods, data, information or services purchased or obtained or messages received or transactions entered into through or from the GTmetrix service; 3. unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; 4. statements or conduct of any third party on the GTmetrix service; or 5. any other matter relating to the GTmetrix service.
  2. Any decisions or claims you make based on data from the GTmetrix Service are your sole responsibility. GTmetrix shall not be held liable for any such decisions or claims.
  3. In no event shall GTmetrix's total liability to you for all damages, losses, and causes of action (whether in contract, tort (including, but not limited to, negligence), or otherwise) exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing this site.

Indemnification

  1. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless GTmetrix and its officers, directors, employees, consultants and agents from any and all third party claims, liability, damages and/or costs (including, but not limited to, attorney fees) arising from your use of the GTmetrix service, your violation of the terms of use or your infringement, or infringement by any other user of your account, of any intellectual property or other right of any person or entity.
  2. You agree to immediately notify GTmetrix of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security known to you.
